THE POWER OF CARTOONS
In a series of witty punchlines, Patrick Chappatte makes a poignant case for the power of the humble cartoon. His projects in Lebanon, West Africa and Gaza show how, in the right hands, the pencil can illuminate serious issues and bring the most unlikely people together.

LIFESTYLE CHANGES
With this finacial crisis on us, families have to cope with difficult situations at home. Actually, many people have to give up certain things that are part of their lifestyles. As we are going to deal with this topic over the next week, I would like the Intermediate 2 students to watch this video and then send me either a recording or a short paragraph answering the following questions.
1. What are the top three necessities that you could not live without?
2. Have you had to make any changes in your lifestyle lately?
4. If you had to, which luxury would you give up?
5. How well can you adjust the change?

ENGLISH SOAP OPERA - CHAPTER 1
From time to time chapters of this sitcom will be posted on this blog so that students can improve their understanding. This soap came to me thanks to a student from basic 1 but it could be of great help to any students in higher levels. This website TELEVEO offers this possibility to all the students of English. Hector´s Arrival is the first chapter. Bridget and Annie have a visitor, Hector, a good looking guy from Argentina who can't speak English very well. Nick is the boy next door who fancies Bridget and at first doesn't like the idea of a rival. I hope these chapters catch your interest.
